Fishing Reports

Nushagak River - June 24th, 2013

River is running at med flow with 5 ft. of visibility.

First week of clients and what a week to be here. Fishing has been spectacular with 26,631 Kings, 474,972 Sockeyes and 195,275 Chum Salmon all up the Nushagak in a 4 day period. With over a half a million fish in the river in 4 days the fishing was just a little better than good. It did not matter if you were fishing plugs or drift eggs we caught them on everything. Weather was great and the fishing was even better.

Nushagak River - June 20th, 2013

River was running med flow with 4ft of visibility.

Setting up camp and doing a little plunking while working during the day and then fishing in front of camp at night time for an hour or so. Fishing has been very good with strong pushes of both Kings and Chums. Using mostly Flatfish in M-2’s or mag lips. During this week we had 4705 Kings and 18,709 chum salmon. As you can tell with numbers like this it was hard to get any work done. Looks like it is going to be a great season.

Nushagak River - July 26th, 2011

The Nushagak is in great shape with med flow and 5 ft of vis.

The Nushagak was on fire this year with an average of 70 kings a day per boat. Lots of fish into the 30 pound range and a few into the 40's. Biggest fish so far has been 46 pounds.

The King fishing has been awesome with the best techniques being plug pulling, diver and bait and bobber dogging. When pulling plugs use wiggle warts in silver/chart, silver/red, chart/green. Wordens maglips have been great in silver/chart and silver/red combos.

Diver and bait with eggs behind a spin-n-glo or a spinner blade has been good.

Bobber dogging eggs with a corkie and two hooks was the ticket today.

For Chums a float and jig combo in pink jigs has been the go to deal.

Fly fishing for kings has been great fishing our flash fly or a wombat.

The season is over and we will be updating the reports next june of 2012.
