Nushagak River - June 23rd, 2009
RECORDED:    45 °    FISHING: Excellent
The Nushagak is in good shape with medium flows and four feet of visibility.  Fishing has been fantastic with good numbers of kings and chums.  Take advantage of a great fly fishing opportunity and chase some chums with anything pink.  Kings are being caught with a variety of techniques including back-trolling plugs and magwarts, spinners, and dragging bait.  Anglers are getting tons of hook-ups a day with many fish in the low to mid twenties.  This level of fishing should hold out for quite awhile.  Check back for continuing reports.

Nushagak River - June 10th, 2009
RECORDED:    75 °    FISHING: Fair
It's time for another season on the Nushagak.  While it's still early there are a few fish ahead of the rest running on the back end of the tides.  A wet spring has the river high and off color, but with large plugs you can mine that chrome from it's depths.  Give this river another week and then hold on as you can expect the best king salmon fishing you have ever had.

Nushagak River - August 1st, 2006
RECORDED:    44 °    FISHING: Excellent
The Nushagak King Salmon season has come to an end with a bang. The Nushagak ended with 124,683 Kings, 661,000 Chums and 548,469 Sockeyes and when the counters stopped counting on July 19th there where still lots of fish still pouring into the system. Needless to say that the Nushagak once again had an epic year with lots of fish to catch and lots of happy faces to go home with. Alaska Kingfishers had a great season with an average of 53 kings caught per day per boat, a nice 47 Pounder caught by Tooke and a awesome chum salmon season with rods bent all the time.

Alaska Kingfishers would like to thank all those who fished with us this season. We had some great fish catching  and some great laughs and thats what it is all about. Have a great rest of your summer and we will see you next year.

Agulowak River - August 1st, 2006
RECORDED:    44 °    FISHING: Excellent
As we come to the end of the 2006 season the Agulowak river was still pumping out Sockeyes, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling and Arctic Char. The Agulowak had the largest Sockeye run in history of record keeping at a amazing 4,024,000 Sockeyes in one monthes time. With numbers like this you can only imagine what the fishing was like. The Sockeyes were so numerous that it was like fishing in a Hatchery. Clients averaged an easy 60 fish a morning before we went trout fishing.

The Trout fishing was fantastic with lots of rainbows in the 20" range falling to Leeches, Drys and Nymphs. Along with the trout where lots of hungery Arctic Grayling to the 18" range.

The Arctic Char fishing this season was awesome with a big out pouring of Sockeye smolts. The fishing with Flies or Jigs was unsurpassed with a fish on every cast and fish to 10 pounds you just cant beat that kind of fishing.

Alaska Kigfishers would like to thank all of you who fished with us this season. Thank you for the great time and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

Agulowak River - July 12th, 2006
RECORDED:    55 °    FISHING: Excellent
The Agulowak has had the most amazing run of Sockeyes in history  of record keeping for the Alaska Department of fish and game. With 3,599,022 sockeyes you can say with out question that fishing has nothing short of spectacular.

When fishing for sockeyes clients have not had to fish more then about fifteen minutes to catch there limit. After there limit has been caught they have continued to educate sockeyes to what catch and release is all about with each angler hooking  up to 60 fish a piece a  morning.

The river has dropped quite a bit giving us accsess to large abundance of fiesty Rainbows. Swinging leeches has been awesome with trout  smashing flies on almost every cast. For the angler looking to tie into nice big trout on dry flies then the afternoons have given them great oppertunity to do so with good hatches of mayflys  coming out to warm themselves in the sun.

The Artic Char fishing at the mouth has continued to be great with smolt still making there annual migration  to the sea. Char have been attacking flies and jigs at great speeds. Fish to 8 pounds have come to the net lately.

Teh fishing on the Agulowak should continue to get better for Trout and Char but will start slowing down for sockeyes as the run comes to and end.
